COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

The Terre Haute German Oberlandler Club’s top priority during Oktoberfest is the safety of everyone who chooses to attend this historic event during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the following policies and procedures have been established to help reduce the inherent risk of participating in any public event public event like Oktoberfest during the pandemic. 

  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19 on or after September 3rd, are waiting for COVID-19 test result, have COVID-19 symptoms, or have had close contact (within 6’ for a total of 15 minutes or more) with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19 any time after September 3rd, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THIS YEAR’S OKTOBERFEST.
  • Although not currently required under local, State and Federal guidelines, all attendees are encouraged to wear a face-covering at least when waiting in lines or when congregating in large groups.
  • Attendees are discouraged from greeting others with physical contact (for example, handshakes).
  • Sides will not be installed on tents to improve ventilation and air movement during this outdoor event.
  • Barriers and markings will be used to help control the flow of attendees and to try to maintain social distancing.
  • Seating areas will be configured to provide appropriate spacing between tables. We kindly ask that you not move or rearrange tables or chairs.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the festival area and at the restrooms. Please remember to wash your hands frequently.
  • Individuals who choose to attend Oktoberfest acknowledge exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk at any public gathering and that the Terre Haute German Oberlandler Club cannot guarantee they will not be exposed during their visit to this event.
